Sorry, we are currently closed! The museum is open on Wednesday, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during peak season, 10.30am – 4.00pm.
Swanage Railway Museum is based at Corfe Castle Station. Its main objective is to preserve and restore, for the public benefit, items of historical value in connection with railways and in particular the Swanage Branch Line.
Items in the Museum collection are on display in the Goods Shed. The displays include photographs, equipment and signage as well as personal effects of people who worked on the railways in the southern region. It tells the story of the branch line from 1885 to its closure in 1972 and the important role the railways played in the first and second world wars

The passion from the small team running this museum is amazing. We met a man called Jeff who's passion for the Swanage railway project was clear to see. Well worth a visit and long may the railway continue!
